Sensitive teeth – a short video
Dr. Marian Grynchev
What sensitivity is
Many people feel a short, sharp pain when they drink something cold, eat something sweet, or brush their teeth. This is often a sign that the deeper layer of the tooth is more exposed, for example because of a receding gum, worn enamel, or a crack. Sometimes the cause is decay or an old filling that no longer fits well.
Sensitivity is not a diagnosis on its own. It is a signal that the teeth are worth checking, especially if the feeling lasts for more than a few weeks or gets stronger.
What can help
A soft brush, gentle brushing without pressing hard, and a toothpaste made for sensitive teeth often ease the discomfort. It also helps to avoid sipping acidic drinks between meals.
In the video with this article, Dr. Marian Grynchev talks briefly about everyday care for sensitive teeth. The video does not replace a visit. If the sensitivity does not go away, book a consultation so we can find the cause.
